I think that framing gets it backwards, and it's worth unpacking why, because oestrogen is one of the most misunderstood hormones in the cycle, and it's carrying a reputation it doesn't deserve.

Oestrogen Is Not the Villain

Oestradiol, the main form of oestrogen your body produces during your reproductive years, is doing far more for you than most people realise, including, frankly, a lot of practitioners in the holistic and natural health space who should know better.

It supports skin elasticity and collagen production. It plays a role in mood regulation and cognitive sharpness. It supports gut lining integrity, helps regulate the immune system, and even affects mitochondrial function, the energy-producing machinery inside your cells. It's cardioprotective. It supports libido. None of that sounds like a hormone we should be trying to suppress.

What Does Oestrogen Dominance Actually Look Like?
