A customer’s experience with Daysy: interview with Krystal

Today we have the privilege to chat with Krystal, one of the lovely members of our online community and user of Daysy. She tells a bit about her experience and the reasons for choosing Daysy.
Hi Krystal, can you tell us a little about yourself?
Hi, I’m Krystal. I live in Melbourne. I’m 25. And I work as a nanny. I have an active lifestyle. I usually go to the gym three or four times a week.
You have an Instagram profile that is called ‘lifeafteriud’, would you like to share what inspired you?
Certainly, my Instagram page is inspired by women’s health. I’m curious and passionate about discussing topics that are terribly important but aren’t taught in schools, like period health. I was on an IUD for two years, a time in which I didn’t have my period. And after a while, I started to wonder what I was missing. When we don’t bleed, we don’t know what we miss in terms of health. I didn’t experience many side effects, to be honest. But, I was worried about the long-term effects of not having a regular menstrual cycle. Don’t get me wrong. Birth control has its place. However, do we really have to alter our cycle or wreak our health to avoid pregnancy?
Do you think that there is a problem with informed consent when it comes to hormonal contraception?
Yes, absolutely. You go to the doctor with hormonal issues, including acne, and you end up with a band-aid solution that comes with potentially serious side-effects. If you want to explore non-hormonal options or natural ways to manage fertility, they don’t take you seriously or they don’t know enough about it.
Do you think that the importance of ovulation is ovulation is overlooked?
Yes! Nobody tells you that ovulation is an essential part of a woman’s health. Since i came off the IUD, my life is better. I feel better. I’m happier. My mood has improved so much!
Would you like to share something about your experience with Daysy? Was it easy?
I’ve found Daysy very easy to use. It’s simple and intuitive. (And I like it!) Besides, there are a lot of resources and information on your website. There are lots of tutorials online. Daysy took only two or three cycles to learn my menstrual cycle. And since then, I have enjoyed having my regular ‘green days’ and knowing exactly when my period is due.
Did you consider other options before choosing Daysy?
No, I found Daysy attractive from the beginning. There are several apps that track your cycle. But I don’t trust how they handle sensitive data. Also, they don’t have the same accuracy, based on body basal temperature.
What would you say to a woman who is considering buying Daysy?
I would say that it’s a great investment in your health. You are going to learn so much about your body that you won’t look back. Plus, there are no risks. You don’t have to introduce chemicals or synthetic hormones in your body.
Thank you so much, Krystal, for sharing your experience!
